When I get up in the morning, the first thing I do as I walk through the house is to say the words – THANK YOU. I repeat THANK YOU over and over until I get to where I am going.
~
THANK YOU ~ THANK YOU ~ THANK YOU ~ THANK YOU ~ THANK YOU
~
You may be thinking – Why in the world does she do that? Well, I want to start each day THANKING Jesus for another day. My THANK YOU is all encompassing to Him. Thankful I woke up – heard the alarm – ability to get up – use my arms and legs – see my way through the house – use the restroom on my own – running water – clothes to get dressed in – food in the pantry – a place of employment I love going to each day – my husband – my daughter – our home – GW’s employment that he loves going to each day – my family – my friends – and so on and so on.
I know you have heard – you can’t have a positive thought if you are thinking a negative one. Have you ever stopped to think just how true that statement is???? What you allow in your mind – is what will be on your mind. If you start your day off pissed off because the alarm already went off – most likely you are going to stay pissed off for most of the morning – changing your mood and how you react to people and what vibe you receive as well. Most likely attracting more negative energy – dropping toothpaste on your clean shirt right before you walk out the door or spilling your coffee in your lap on the way to work – forgetting your lunch on the counter – hitting every red light in town. You get a sense of what I mean.
I am not saying that every day is sunshine and roses – I have extended family crap going on that I have released for the betterment of myself. My losing sleep over things that are completely out of my control only hurts me. Does it bother me? Sure. But it is what it is ~ We all have something going on in our lives but how you choose to react to it – sets forth the narrative of your day and your life. You and you alone are in control of how you mentally and spiritually allow circumstances weigh on you. The Bible says in Matthew 11:28-30 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
A very near and dear friend of mine, Cindy Angel, just recently started a blog GO FOLLOW HER by clicking on her name ⬆️.
She is an inspiration to me and I don’t know that she even knows that ~ I must tell her soon if she doesn’t read it here first ~ sorry Cindy!! She is so much to so many people – I don’t know how she pulls it off quite honestly – AND runs her own business while working FULL TIME!! She posts short motivational videos that I love watching. The one that I caught this week reminded me just what my THANK YOU is every morning. It isn’t just a habit – it is intentional. Just like when I say the Lord’s Prayer every morning in the shower as I rinse the conditioner from my hair. Another thing I do as I squeegee the glass walls and door after showering – I finish my thoughts as prayers – Thank you Jesus for another day – thank You for everything You do – everything You have given us – forgiving us as we fail You which is every single day – thank You for our health – our home – and so on and so on. My shower is my prayer closet. It is also where I get my best ideas. I think it is because it is the one place that I have all to myself away from the noise of the world to actually think and be intentional with my thoughts. Ok – sorry – got off on a tangent there – where were we? Oh yeah! CINDY and her motivational videos. I have attached her short Gratitude video below.
This evening, we are getting together for a cookout to send off her oldest son to college next week. I can’t even imagine as my time to send off my baby girl to college is gaining speed. Two years from now, her son will be going into his junior year of college and M will be a college freshman – 😳
As we tread these new waters together – I will continue to give thanks and watch and learn from a friend on how it is done with style and grace with a whole lot of Smile 🖤 Sparkle 🖤 Shine.
XOXO ~ PGWW
