As I sit on the porch with the swing to my right that you were sitting on as I captured this candid moment, I am thankful. Mom – when I snapped this never ever did I think one day that photo would be placed next to the guest book of your service. But placed it was along with the most gorgeous arrangement of white and purple Lillies purchased by Mikayla and Dakota.
While it is absolutely hard to believe that today is day 364 since you went home to be with Jesus, Daddy, and all of those we love that have went before us, tomorrow is day 365. A second completion of year of firsts for us all. My prayer is that I have made you and Daddy proud of all the things that I have handled for the family this year without disappointing you one time. I hope you both have stood side-by-side with Daddy nudging you and saying – look at her. She’s a tough one.

I also like to think that after this amazing greeting by Jesus that you and Daddy were reunited along with your parents, brothers, all of Daddy’s family and your friends; you both were able to sit on a swing catching up from the years you spent here without him. The smile on your face and the way that you look at him in the photo on my swing says it all to me. And that makes my heart happy for you both.
We made it. And, we will keep moving forward collectively. Keep giving us signs as they lighten the sadness giving us smiles from Above.
