Grilled Bone-In Pork Chops & Asparagus

I am totally hooked on these grilled bone-in pork chops & asparagus. We have a friend who is a master at throwing spices together and coming out with a tasty dish each and every single time.

The first time he fixed us grilled pork chops, I vowed to never fix them in the oven again. Though, I do love Shake N Bake pork chops and when I don’t have time to do all the things to prep for grilled, I will revert back to the Shake N Bake.

Grilled Pork Chops Seasonings:

  • Olive Oil
  • Paprika
  • Garlic Powder
  • Cracked Black Pepper
  • A little bit of Salt
  • Shannon uses fresh squeezed Lemon as well. I didn’t this last time and it was just as tasty and the reason that I didn’t was because I forgot…..

Grilled Asparagus Seasoning:

  • Olive Oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Prep:

I put a little of the Pork Chop Seasonings in the bottom of a large Ziploc baggie just so I know I can get the bottom coated once the chops have been added. Then I do the same once they are all in. I mix it all around with the baggie zipped being careful not to poke the bag with one of the bones. Place the Ziploc in a bowl and marinate for a day or two. Occasionally, I will pull the bag out and work the chops around in the seasoning and place back into the fridge.

For the asparagus, I rinse them and chop or break the ends off. Place in a large Ziploc baggie and pour olive oil over to coat then add salt and pepper to taste. Place in the refrigerator as well until you are ready to grill!

When grilling day arrives, pull the chops out and let them come to room temperature. I don’t have a scientific reason other than that’s what Shannon said to do!

Honestly, this was the very first time I grilled the asparagus and there is zero comparison when it comes to grilled or baked….. Grilled is THE WAY to go!

If you have bread you are going to bake or have any other side dishes, I suggest preparing them BEFORE you are ready to grill the chops and asparagus. It doesn’t take long at all for these two to be ready to pull from the grill.

Preheat your grill to 400º. Grill the pork chops 4 minutes on one side and 3 to 4 minutes on the other. Be careful when you place the pork chops on the grill as the excess olive oil may make flames shoot up and I don’t want you getting burnt!

For the asparagus, I bought a pack of three grill sheets and placed foil over it to place my the asparagus on as I really didn’t want them getting chard or sticking to or falling through the grill. I turned them a couple of times during the quick cooking process until they became tender.

OH MY GOODNESS….. A M A Z I N G….

I would love to hear if you try these and what you think! Share any tricks of the trade you have as well!

Happy grilling!
